A simple 4-step process to convert images into editable vector graphics using the AI design assistant and Adobe Illustrator

1. Start with AI sketch generation

Generate a technical flat in the AI design assistant and Download PNG Click the button.

2. Import and prepare in Adobe Illustrator

Open Adobe Illustrator and import the downloaded AI-generated technical flat.

Go to Window > Object > Image Trace

4. Configure Image Trace settings

  • From the dropdown menu, select the Technical Drawing preset .

  • Make sure the Create Strokes option is checked. Make sure the option is checked.

  • If you are satisfied with the preview, click Expandto convert the traced image into editable vector paths.

After expanding, the image will now consist of individual line segments that can be edited separately.
