A simple 4-step process to convert images into editable vector graphics using the AI Design Assistant and Adobe Illustrator

1. Start by generating an AI sketch

In the AI Design Assistant, generate a technical flat Download the PNG by clicking the button.

2. Import and prepare in Adobe Illustrator

Open Adobe Illustrator and import the downloaded AI-generated technical flat.

3. Go to Window > Object > Image Trace

4. Configure the Image Trace settings

  • From the dropdown menu select the Technical Drawing preset. Choose the preset.

  • Ensure the Create Strokes option is checked.

  • When you are satisfied with the preview, click Expandto convert the traced image into editable vector paths.

After expanding, the image is now composed of individual line segments that can be edited separately.
